Hello all, This week’s newsletter is arriving a couple days later than normal because I just made the drive from Wichita to Miami with my entire family. It was a grueling push across the country with a 2 month old and a 2 year old. I officially moved my practice (Kansas Counseling Center) fully remote until Christmas, which honestly felt like a huge personal risk. And my wife starts her Cardio Thoracic surgery rotation at the University of Miami hospital on Monday. Five years ago, if you had asked me where life would lead after doing some basic goal setting exercises, I would never have pictured this -- we got a pool and a ping pong table in the back yard! A few highlights from the trip.
And here is the truly unbelievable part. There were maybe 10 total minutes of crying from our kids the entire trip. With a 2 year old and a 2 month old, this felt like an answered prayer because there is usually ten minutes of crying on the way to the grocery store. My wife sat in the backseat with the kids almost the entire drive. She played with them, fed them, comforted them. At one point I looked back and saw her feeding the baby with one hand while catching throw up in a bag from our toddler with the other, all in the last forty-five minutes of the drive. She’s a natural at being a mom. It reminded me having the right people around you, no matter what age you are, can make the world of difference. During the drive I had a lot of time to plan upcoming 2026 content and plans for business, newsletter, and personal goals. I started organizing content to launch a course for Men’s mental health and newsletter ideas. I Want Your Input! During that long drive, I realized something. The best newsletters this year were the ones where I wrote about topics my clients or readers specifically requested. For a couple months I let my therapy clients pick the topic on Monday and I wrote the newsletter based on their pick by Friday; it was super fun & It produced some of the richest conversations. So I want to ask all of you: What topics do you want covered? What issues do you see men facing today that you want content on? Mental health, relationships, identity, motivation, faith, family, work, emotional resilience. Anything. Your input helps guide what I create for 2026. Reply to this email and send me your ideas. One Last Ask.... If you have enjoyed this newsletter, would you consider sharing it with a friend or family member? When I started this, I had no idea how it would go. I have been genuinely blown away by the feedback from clients, friends, students, and new readers. It has meant more than you know. (There's a link below!) Zach |
