Here's Your Call to Action:

Men’s Mental Health & DV Prevention

Story #1 - Olivia - (Please note: Some content may be difficult to read.)

Insane, right?

And yet... this stuff actually happens.

As a clinical therapist, I’ve sat with so many clients who’ve shared stories of terrifying moments and deeply unhealthy relational dynamics. While I’m grateful survivors have access to emotional and mental support, but so much of therapy work is reactive; stepping in after the damage has been done. It often feels like playing only defense.

The reality is hard to ignore: a significant majority of domestic violence cases involve men inflicting harm on women. It shouldn’t be this way. And I genuinely believe it doesn’t have to stay this way.

Domestic violence is preventable. That’s the entire heartbeat behind this newsletter -- Mental Health 4 Men -- and why your participation matters.

To put things in perspective: the overwhelming majority of reported violent domestic incidents— over 90% the last time I checked—involve male perpetrators. That’s why prevention efforts focused on men aren’t optional; they’re essential.

Story #2 - Erin & Mazey - (Please note: Some content may be difficult to read.)

The Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence (KCSDV) is leading the fight in Kansas. Their mission is to end domestic and sexual violence completely. I believe that is possible.

KCSDV supports crisis centers across the state through advocacy, training, education, awareness campaigns, and coordinated statewide efforts. Their work strengthens every frontline program working to keep survivors safe.

This year, Mental Health 4 Men is aiming to raise $1,000 for KCSDV’s Silent Witness Project, which honors victims, tells their stories, and drives prevention efforts so fewer names ever need to be added.

Your participation—and your willingness to donate—helps keep these stories visible, fuels life-saving prevention work, and supports a safer future for our communities.

Together, we can move from reacting to preventing.
